Ball State University invites nominations and applications for the Dean of the Miller College of Business. The dean leads a talented faculty of approximately 100 in the departments of Accounting, Economics, Finance and Insurance, Information Systems and Operations Management, and Marketing and Management. The college also hosts the Bureau of Business Research, the Center for Economic Education, the Entrepreneurship Center, and the H. H. Gregg Center for Professional Selling. The college seeks a dean who has attained distinction in one of the disciplines of the college and who is an outstanding leader with a strong vision for business, economic development, and management education. The dean will promote the national visibility of the college programs, foster interdisciplinarity and creative collaborations, and manage effectively the college's human, fiscal, and physical resources. The dean will lead the college in developing immersive learning experiences for students, in creating an entrepreneurial environment in which innovation will flourish, and in enhancing the engagement of faculty and students with community partners. In addition, the dean will cultivate and maintain relationships with external constituents, including benefactors and alumni. Minimum qualifications: an earned doctorate in an appropriate field (for example, accounting, economics, finance, information systems, operations management, marketing, management, etc.) from an accredited institution of higher learning, demonstrated successful experience in academic administration at the collegiate and/or university level, demonstrated commitment to diversity, evidence of successful teaching in higher education, evidence of scholarly and professional achievement that will merit a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of professor in one of the departments of the college, demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all constituencies, knowledge and understanding of business and its role in society, and an understanding of AACSB International accreditation procedures. Preferred qualifications: substantial successful experience in academic administration at the collegiate and/or university level, demonstrated success in developing external funding or fundraising, understanding of current fiscal management procedures, and understanding of technology in the business environment.
