Stockholm University invites applications for a position as Professor for 'The Savings Banks Foundations and Swedbank Chair in Macroeconomics' at the Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES). The position is in the field of economics with special emphasis on the research area of macroeconomics, including theory as well as empirical work. Main tasks of the chair-holder: To initiate and lead larger research projects with external funding within the subject field together with researchers at the IIES or other seats of learning; to supervise graduate students at the IIES and at the Department of Economics; to develop and be in charge of courses in macroeconomics within the graduate program or the advanced undergraduate program. Knowledge of Swedish is not a requirement for being appointed to the position, but the applicant should be prepared to carry out certain administrative and pedagogical tasks in Swedish within a few years after the appointment. Qualification requirements: Qualified for the appointment to this professorship is an individual with extremely well-documented scientific skills at the highest international level. These skill requirements are considerably higher than the requirements for Associate Professor (the Swedish docent title). In addition, well-documented pedagogical skills are required. Bases for assessment/criteria for evaluation of candidates: Since the IIES is primarily a research institute, special weight in the evaluation is to be given to scientific skills. Certain weight is to be given to pedagogical skills and the ability to create and lead research activities within the research field. Since most of the Institute's researchers are men, applications from female candidates are particularly welcome.
