As part of a major hiring initiative, the Department of Economics invites applications for three tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels. The University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, established in 1911, is a Land, Sea and Space Grant institution comprising the Colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration and Engineering. The Economics Department offers excellent teaching and research support. Salary and benefits are competitive. Positions start as early as January 2008. Senior candidates with established research and teaching records should submit a cover letter, resume, and names of references. Junior candidates must have completed their Ph. D. before assuming duties, should send a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, research paper, evidence of teaching effectiveness, graduate transcript and three letters of recommendation. Knowlege of Spanish is an asset but all applications will be considered. Review will begin by October 1st, 2007 and continue until the positions are filled.
