D2 Organizational Economics
The Department of Human Resources and Industrial Relations (HRIR) in the Carlson School of Management at
the University of Minnesota invites applications for two faculty positions: 1) Organizational Economics, and 2)
Labor Relations/Industrial Relations. We are looking for extraordinary colleagues who will publish scholarly
research, teach undergraduate, professional (HRIR M.A.), and Ph.D. level courses, and advise doctoral students
in these and related areas. Candidates with complementary interests in labor economics, behavioral economics,
compensation, international or comparative HRIR, strategic HRM, negotiation and dispute resolution, or other
areas are particularly welcome. Appointments will begin August 2008 at the rank of assistant or associate
professor depending upon qualifications and experience, and consistent with collegiate and university policy.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in an appropriate social science or professional discipline by August 2008, and a
desire to interact and collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines. Successful applicants will be expected
to contribute to the service needs of a vibrant department, college, and university, including interacting with the
professional business and HRIR communities. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter describing
their current research plans and teaching interests, as well as representative publications and evidence of
teaching effectiveness. Applicants for Associate Professor should include the names and contact information
for at least three references; applicants for Assistant Professor should include three letters of recommendation.

begin on October 1, 2007 (labor relations search) and November 1, 2007 (organizational economics search) and
