Assistant Professor*-- Economics of Production Agriculture, full-time, 9 or 12 months, Department of Agricultural Economics, is seeking applications for a Tenure-track position; 60% research, 40% teaching to establish an internationally recognized education and research program in the economics of production agriculture and its interface with areas such as natural resources, bio-energy economics, bio-security economics, efficiency and profitability of agricultural systems, environmental impacts of agriculture, water use, and related areas. The successful candidate will collaborate with research and extension faculty in areas of interest to the department, and on interdisciplinary teams. The department seeks an individual who fosters diversity and teamwork, and who has the ability to work with a variety of audiences, including individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds. The successful candidate will be expected to become active in securing extramural funding to support a robust research program to lead and support graduate student research. We seek an individual with a strong commitment to teaching and advising at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Teaching responsibilities will include two courses per year in areas such as risk management, production economics, optimization, natural resources, finance, and farm management. Qualifications: Ph.D. in agricultural economics, economics, or related field at the time of appointment. Excellent quantitative, written and oral communication, and teaching skills and the ability to develop an internationally recognized research program are required. Quantitative skills should include econometrics, optimization, and simulation. An orientation to production agriculture problems is highly desirable. Salary and Benefits: Competitive and commensurate with candidate's ability and experience and nature of appointment (9 or 12 month).
