A record of excellence in research and teaching, with a minimum of two years post-Ph.D. experience in research and teaching, is required. Director, Applied Economics Research Institute (AERI) (Non-tenure track, 3-year renewable appointment as Research Assistant Professor, starting November 1, 2007; open until filled). The Economics Department invites applications for Director of AERI, whose mission is to serve private and public institutions as a source of information and consultation, to develop and maintain an economic data base for the Cincinnati area, and to provide hands-on training to MA students in applied economics. The Director — serving as liaison between AERI and the Greater Cincinnati business, educational, and not-for-profit communities — is responsible for: generating and completing grants and contracts to support AERI, producing periodic reports, maintaining its data base, and working with graduate students at the Institute and in class. A Ph.D. in economics or closely related discipline is preferred, but applicants with an MA and extensive relevant experience are also considered. Training and experience in economic impact analysis and some of the following areas is expected: fiscal impact analysis; public policy research; public sector revenue forecasts; industry studies; labor market research; econometric modeling; forecasting.
