The Treasury Department's Office of Economic Policy will have openings in its Microeconomic and Macroeconomic Analysis offices in 2007 for extremely well-qualified economists (entry-level and mid-career) to help develop and implement U.S. economic policy. We invite interested candidates to submit resumes. Economic Policy staff provide analysis and advice to senior Treasury officials on a wide range of financial and economic issues, including macro conditions, fiscal policy, entitlement reform, pensions, labor, health, education, financial market and insurance issues. Staff work almost immediately with top policy-makers. Candidates should have a PhD in economics or finance. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, successful candidates must have the ability to present their views clearly and concisely and to prepare analysis, both oral and written, in tight time frames.
