The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is seeking a Ph.D. economist for its Financial Access and Compliance Unit. The OCC charters, regulates, and supervises national banks. Unit economists use statistical analysis and econometric modeling to test for possible discrimination and monitor fair lending compliance, and pursue an active research agenda. Desirable candidates have demonstrated knowledge of SAS or other statistical software, ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, strong interpersonal skills, and a background in applied microeconomics fields such as labor economics, applied econometrics, or economics of discrimination.
