I1 Health Economics CBO is a nonpartisan agency that provides the Congress with the objective and timely analyses needed for economic and budgetary decisions. CBO analysts prepare written studies and testimonies, and advise committee staff. In addition to ongoing recruitments for Financial and Macroeconomics, CBO seeks candidates for immediate openings:
Health Economist/Policy Analyst to conduct
research and policy analysis on topics related to
federal health programs and the operation and
regulation of private health insurance markets.
Projects currently underway include analyzing
options for increasing the number of people with
health insurance, examining the causes of rising
national health care spending, and identifying
strategies to control costs.
Senior Labor Economist to analyze a broad range
of policies and programs affecting employment and
income security.
Deputy Assistant Director in Tax Analysis
Division—This senior management position
involves supervising the work of professional
analysts, most with advanced degrees and
considerable experience. Familiarity with current
issues and research in the area of tax policy is a
must.
Revenue Estimator to be responsible for the
development of baseline budget estimates and the
estimation of revenue gains and losses from
legislative proposals.
