Description: The BearingPoint Public Services sector is currently searching for a Senior Economist, Senior Consultant. Location: Washington D.C client site Re-location: Yes. Peformance Profile/Position Description: The selected candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with renowned economists to produce analyses that will influence decisions impacting the affordable housing industry as well as a multitude of federal direct and guaranteed loan programs. Position Specific Required Skills: Seeking exceptional candidates with 3 plus years of experience in: (1) Financial Economics: developing portfolio credit risk measures; and/or (2) Economics and Econometrics: modeling mortgage loan performance, modeling trends and mortgage market developments, and forecasting property values. Successful candidates will have a Masters degree or a Ph.D. in economics, real estate finance, or finance and strong quantitative skills in statistical and financial disciplines. Experience working with large data sets, and knowledge of housing and mortgage markets is valued. Statistical programming experience in SAS and/or STATA required. Position-specific Desired Skills: Prior management consulting skills. Strong Proficency in Visual Basic, Excel and Access is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Position requires a standard government background check. US citizenship or US Permanent Residency required. Logistics: Travel-none.
