The Walter A. Haas School of Business at the
University of California, Berkeley, invites
applications for non-tenured (tenure track) or
tenured faculty positions in a number of business
fields. We seek to make one or more appointments
effective July 1, 2007. We invite applications from
candidates who work in accounting, finance,
economics, corporate strategy, organizational
behavior, decision-making, international business,
marketing, operations management, business and
society, business and the environment, corporate
social responsibility, real estate, entrepreneurship as
well as other business areas. Candidates may have
backgrounds in a wide range of fields and
disciplines. Applicants must have a Ph.D., evidence
of research or the potential for scholarly activity and
teaching, and contribute to the development of our
MBA curriculum. Cover letters should include a

names of three references, a brief statement of
future research plans and interests, and evidence of

I2 Education
The University of California, Berkeley, invites
applications for a faculty position (tenure-track or
tenure level) in any of the following three areas: (1)
K-12 Education Policy and Equity; (2) Education
and Community/Student Social Processes; (3)
Education and Immigration. The professorial rank is
open but preference will be given to candidates who
have received their doctoral degree within the last
12 years. The search is part of the newly-approved
interdisciplinary Berkeley Diversity Research
Initiative (BDRI) and will be conducted as part of
the Education Policy cluster of this Initiative.

to have a Ph.D., Ed.D., or J.S.D. degree by July 1,
2007, in Education, Public Policy, Law, or one of
the social sciences, or in an interdisciplinary field
with substantial preparation in social sciences, or a
J.D. in combination with substantial training in
social science research. They should have a research
and teaching portfolio that examines how our
educational and related institutions, policies, and
practices adapt (or fail to adapt) to an increasingly
multi-racial, multi-ethnic population. Special
consideration will be given to candidates who work
in any of the following areas: (1) policies to improve
educational achievement and attainment of racial,
ethnic minority, and immigrant students; (2)
community and institutional dynamics, student
culture, and their relationship to efforts to improve
schools and education practices; and (3) the special
challenges involved in creating effective learning
communities for immigrant children, and the
relationship of school improvement to the
opportunity and acculturation processes in
immigrant communities. This search will be
conducted with the participation of the Graduate
School of Education, the School of Law (Boalt
Hall) including its program in Jurisprudence and
Social Policy, the Department of African American
Studies, and the Department of Ethnic Studies. The
successful candidate will hold a faculty
appointment in a department or school to be
determined by the candidate's preferences,
disciplinary training, and departmental fit. Under
appropriate circumstances, a joint appointment may
be possible. Applications must include a letter of
