CSWEP Board Member - Jennifer Imazeki

photo of Jennifer ImazekiJennifer Imazeki is an Associate Professor of Economics at San Diego State University where she teaches courses in applied microeconomics. Her research focuses on the economics of K-12 education, including school finance reform, adequacy, and teacher labor markets. She has published several articles in professional journals such as the Review of Economics and Statistics, Economics of Education Review, National Tax Journal, and Journal of Education Finance, as well as chapters in a number of books on school finance. She has also completed studies on adequacy and/or teacher costs for legislators in several states.

Professor Imazeki has a B.A. from Pomona College and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, all in economics. She is a member of the American Economic Association, the Association of Public Policy Analysis and Management, and recently served on the Board of Directors of the American Education Finance Association. In addition to her research, she is passionate about economics education, particularly promoting active learning in large-enrollment courses.
