Menzie D. Chinn of University of Wisconsin reviews "A Decade of Debt" by Carmen M. Reinhart and Kenneth S. Rogoff. The EconLit abstract of the reviewed work begins: Explores the recent simultaneous peacetime buildup of large public debt positions in most of the world's advanced high-income countries and considers policy strategies that countries can undertake to prevent negative debt outcomes. Discusses a decade of debt and presents a chartbook of country histories of debt, default, and financial crises. Reinhart is Dennis Weatherstone Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. Rogoff is a member of the Peterson Institute for International Economics Advisory Committee and Thomas D. Cabot Professor of Public Policy and Professor of Economics at Harvard University. Index.
