About AER

The American Economic Review (AER) was first published in 1911. Each of the regular issues (March, June, September and December) contains a number of articles and shorter papers on economic subjects. The May issue is the Papers and Proceedings (P&P) of the annual meeting. Selected papers and discussions of papers presented at the meetings are published along with reports of officers, committees, and representatives.

Members of the AEA are entitled to receive AER and e-AER as part of their membership benefits. Libraries and other organizations may subscribe to AER and other AEA publications.

About e-AER

e-AER, the electronic web edition of the American Economic Review, provides the current issue of AER with hypertext enhancements made possible by the World Wide Web publishing environment.

e-AER includes the articles from the current AER issue in Adobe pdf format. The e-AER archive contains Adobe pdf-format articles that have appeared in AER since 1999.

e-AER is free to AEA members and is not available to institutional subscribers. The e-AER web pages are password protected. If you do not have a password, click here. We ask that you read the copyright notice, which applies to the e-AER web pages.

About AER on CD

AER on CD is available for both members and institutional subscribers, who may elect to receive the AER CD in lieu of the printed edition of AER or they may receive both editions for a small fee.

About the AER site license for institutional subscribers

Issues of all three AEA journals published since January 2002 may be accessed online at IngentaConnect and Atypon Link. Online journals include reference links to available full-text documents, e-mail alerts of new issues, and searchable full-text. Institutions must have a subscription to the print or CD journal to add online access.
