Cuneiform Digital Library
This project deals takes the oldest written form of communication,
5,000 year old cuneiform tablets from Mesopotamia and puts them
on-line. As one can imagine, dealing with numerous clay tablets is
cumbersome. Plus, they are generally held in many different museums,
and there is no single catalog of them. This project makes electronic
copies of the tablets, and then places them on-line. Those working on
this project generally use flatbed scanners to read the information
off the tablets.
