| Subject: | The purpose of the Summer School is to investigate some of the key issues facing New Zealand, including: dependence on imported liquid fuel, developing renewable sources of energy, public transport, and climate change. The School will be divided into two parts. The first part will review economic models for analysing energy policy; including basic models of supply and demand; dynamic models and the role of uncertainty in energy policy analysis. The second part will focus on energy markets, emerging technologies, transport planning, and energy policy. Insights into the practical aspects of energy supply will come from commercial operators.
