| Description: | Tinbergen Institute Workshop 'Economics of the Workplace: using insights from organizational psychology and sociology to enrich economic theory' |
| Location: | Rotterdam, Netherlands |
| Subject: | Most people do not work only for money. Self-development, status, and self-image are only some of the parameters that determine where people work and how much effort they invest. A key role of a manager is to make sure that his workers are motivated to contribute to the value of the organization. To achieve this goal, managers rely on incentive pay, but also on performance feedback, delegation of authority, confidence management, and status symbols. The aim of the two-day workshop is to bring together scholars who study the Economics of the Workplace and who want to incorporate insights from organizational psychology and sociology. Researchers are encouraged to submit theoretical, empirical or experimental work in this area. [gemäß den Informationen des Anbieters - according to site editor's information] |
